Ifiwatch.tv/drupal/Subtitles and Language
This should be done as an extension to, and part of, the process to update the content type outlined above. While not a full internationalisation (i18n) or subtitling solution, it provides what is required for starting to attach subtitles at the same time as creating a suitable upgrade path in the future. Installation of i18n module. Creation of a subtitle content type, allowing a local copy of a subtitle file to be attached or a link to a file elsewhere. This content type would require a language field. Installation, and first development, of a cck field to connect the film content type with the subtitles. Adding optional language information for film description and film content.

Discussion
- What is needed to be done to support this process in the Subtitling_working_group?
- David at bankwatch.org is working on development of translations for ifiwatchnet.org. Members of Bankwatch network could be good test case for any tools developed - though their current site is in actionaps.
For ifiwatch at this present time it can pull information about language, translations and subtitles if they are to be made available. At present blip.tv is the only site doing this, and then in a non-standard proprietary way.
- How does this connect with the plans for Metadata_working_group#Media_file_hash_info_and_tools_for_hashing where users can contribute translations, usage suggestions can be stored etc, also the Virtual_Entity proposal? What if any contribution can ifiwatch.tv work and budgets best make to these developments?
ifiwatch doesn't have the files themselves, and hence can't create the hash data that would be needed to be able to help on a technical level here. If people were to add the data to feeds it would be practical to help store and index it.
Status
Incoming feed parsing and mapping could now handle feeds with language metadata. Additional i18n should be added in the next iteration, after the site goes live for the first time with the FeedAPI changes.
