status of the standard:
Basic Version
Status:
Largely complete since late last year, target users still awaiting finalisation … is being finalised, next to be packaged up, networked and promoted using OSI funding that Jamie holds.
Participants that Have Implemented the Standard
Core Team:
- technical development, packaging for users and tech support - Jamie
- testing usability with ifiwatch.tv, promotion and networking - Zoe
- pro-active planning, oversight and management - Alistair
Opportunities:
- keep up the momentum from transmission and retransmission
- use the new media aggregators and feedparsers like simplepie to the max
- network the media of tx participating projects
- get ifiwatch.tv working properly as a demo site
- get desired media to academic, campaign and other audiences ...
Risks:
- Continue stalling due to team members' other priorities and lose momentum from transmission entirely.
- Lack of experienced project management lets the limited time and money available go to waste
- Technical issues mean process is delayed or final product unworkable
- Packaged product is not designed to be user-friendly or explained well enough to encourage wide participation
Key Questions:
- how much money is available from OSI to pay for this work?
- what is realistic timetable for the work?
- who will manage the project, arrange meetings, manage finances etc?
Version with payment namespace
status: envisaged, funding bids under way.

A meeting needs to be convened to establish make up and modus operandi of a ‘board’ to oversee process, spending etc.
Envisaged timescale is to have a version of the standard complete with financial information flows working by December 2007.
Risks:
- We do not share information sufficiently now to all understand and complete process effectively.
- Acting project manager lacks experience in this field needed to pro-actively handle practicalities.
- Technical issues mean process is delayed or final product unworkable
- Packaged product is not designed to be user-friendly or explained well enough to encourage wide participation
