Publisher field:

Who is referred to in the publisher field within Feed Metadata and Video Metadata  ??? BUT within the video metadata there is no field for 'author', film maker or collective.... How do we interpret that now:

  • within feed metadata, the publisher could be user name of whoever publishes it into the CMS (so is the author of the posting)
  • within video metadata, we have publisher as meaning whoever published the video itself (so this is the author of the video.. or is it the organisation that is distributing it, or what?)

Date field:

Szczym and Zoe: Which field contains the information about when the video has been published? (by the film maker), and which field contains the date when the item has been published into the cms? whatever the answers to the above two questions, we need clear notes to specify which kind of information is required in which field, and where the other expectable information should go (presumably as part of description?) if not in the conceivable field....

Description field

Szczym and Zoe: How much text should go there? it is clearly necessary to have, as a minimum, a short, pithy description for every piece of media (with a maximum word length, perhaps?). however it is also good to allow space for longer, fuller descriptions, not least to contain the information that is not provided for in other specific fields.. for example, there would ideally be sufficient space for any detailed film credits, contact details, additional urls for related materials (eg film trailer), and an indication of any 'do no harm' approach to be taken with the film.. and though this detail would not need to appear appear in the feed, should it not 'travel with' the video somehow...?

License field

Szczym and Zoe: How do we encode license information? We have to have clear way to pass license information across websites. As far as i know, w3.org recommends the DOCTYPE way, so we have to add link to license on the creative commons website.

Subtitle field

Language

Szczym and Zoe: In the standard is no language of video content field. perhaps there should be?

Genre

Szczym and Zoe: How many Genres might be in one field ? multiple or single?
