c-panel with fantastico is one good management tool to manage your databases and one-click installs - easily available in asia. a service that your web-host provides to you - they have it or not, best to enquire.
HOW TO INSTALL WORDPRESS FROM SCRATCH AND SETUP SHOW IN A BOX
- 1. goto wordpress.org - download and ftp the wordpress software to your webhost.
- 2. change wp-config-sample.php content - modify database name, user, password and host. Save it as wp-config.php
- 3. FTP all files to the server
- 4. on 1st use WP will prompt for installation
- 5. when you login you see an admin panel - write posts, manage aspects of your website, control the presentation, see what plugins you have.
- 6. in your wordpress files - wp-content folder. inside this "plugins" folder and "themes" folder

there is a forum - you can come and ask questions and get help
to activate a theme - click on presentation, then change themes by clicking to make the theme active
"spacey" theme comes with options- you can write your own style and apply to the theme.
allows you to upload your own header image, it will replace the one it comes with by default
you can choose how many columns - one or two sidebars
plugins - once you have plugins copied to correct folder, you can click Activate to start them. or Deactive to stop them.

you can define how big the videos are, in different formats - Quicktime, Flash, iPod, AppleTV, Mobile, Windows Media Player, HD, Ogg
add a poster image and a thumbnail image - will scale poster down but better to add thumb also.
vPIP creates links under your video to give user choice over which format they can watch back. also creates an Embed link - with Share button.
only shows the formats you have added. has a Close button to stop playback. click Share link for copy'n'paste embed tag to paste into a myspace page or another blog etc. this comes with the embed page also - so it can be RE-embeded from myspace or facebook.
doesn't have a download button - you have to right-click to download files.
vPIP settings are in the back end in the admin panel. you can set default sizes for all formats. also gives you the feed for each media format. these can be re-published on your front page by using an RSS widget.
you can change the name of the Share button to something else
you can use the option of an external flash player
VideoPress Plugins also enabled - Recent Videos, Video Archve, Related Videos
when writing a post you can add related videos - paste in by hand. can link to videos on other websites. can automate this in the next version of the plugin - will automatically populate with videos with similar tags if you choose. this will show them in the sidebar in the "spacey" theme.
gives you a Video Archive - just title, thumbail, short description rather than whole post.
Recent Videos has options - resize thumbnails, number of thumbs, vertical or horizontal. Related Videos and Video Archive have similar options in the admin panel.
in Presentation>Widgets you can add widgets by dragging and dropping into sidebars.
Recent Videos, Video Archive and Related Videos are all widgetized, so can be added in this manner.
can move the thumbnail strip around, for example on the footer, but have to do this in code. goto SIAB forums for help with this.
