What video publishing sites need to create in terms of feed

Why create Feeds with media enclosures

Why Create Feeds from Keyword/Search
Sites such as IFIwatch.TV are now sucking and displaying video only on specific issues (in this example, critical news and perspectives on the World Bank, IMF etc). As more open source CMSs are developed effectively to display incoming video feed items, the utility of keyword-refined media RSS feeds will only increase. Enabling this functionality at this stage will set up a video publishing site to participate as efficiently as possible in emerging decentralised networks of video distribution.
What types of feeds have media enclosures
RSS 2.0 with enclosures

MediaRSS
The Media RSS spec is co-ordinated by Yahoo http://search.yahoo.com/mrss
Atom
Atom feeds can have enclosures. An example spec is here.

The Transmission network also have a specification
iTunes
iTunes have a feed standard with enclosures. However it doesn't support images for each item which is problematic for Video podcasts with thumbnails.

What is the Transmission metadata standard?
Briefly the transmission Metadata standard is designed to fill the holes left by other standards. This includes the lack of provision for subtitles and unique identifiers for Media items.
The current standard: http://clearerchannel.org/docs/tx_metadata_standard_0_9.pdf

Why not just use Media RSS feeds?
Most of the aims of the Transmission Metadata standard are achieved by Media RSS specification so why not just use that?
Mainly we feel the need to develop this specification is because we are unable to extend the Yahoo MRSS spec for our own needs.
